The May Bank Holiday brought some new faces and some returning parkrunners to Rineen for Castlehaven parkrun #121. There were four ‘first timers’, seven parkrunnners achieved a PB and a total of 27 people ran, jogged or walked their way around Rineen on Saturday morning.
All of this was made possible by the lovely team of volunteers. Thank you to Mark, Anne, John, Catherine and Lynzie for giving their time to keep our parkrun going and safe for all involved.
Looking at the results, Rosaleen MacKeown was was the first female to finish and finished second overall, Siobhan Nolan finished as second female and Hayley Moore, a first timer, was the third finisher.
Conor Devaney, a first timer at Castlehaven was the first finisher, followed by Stephen Connolly finishing second with Murray Connolly finishing as third male.
This week we had 7 people achieve a PB. Well done to Murray Connolly, Domhnall Coffey, Stephen Scanlon. There was three PBs in a row with Deirdre Coffey, Rosemarie O’Mahoney and Mary Hourihane following eachother home each with a PB. Una Murray returned after a little break to also get a PB. Well done to all.
One of this weeks volunteers, John Hutchins, just returned from a trip to Australia with his wife to visit their daughter Siobhan. Siobhan is an active runner and parkrunner in Oz and John also went along with Siobhan to parkrun while there. John managed 6 parkruns over four different courses.
Fantastic running and brilliant times recorded for these courses.
That weather looks awful. It’s onwards and upwards, after another volunteering week again this week for John. Well done John, it’s great to hear that parkrun can be enjoyed while at home and away.
See you again on Saturday 12th.
