What better way could run director and school teacher extraordinaire, Aoife, start her summer holidays than by donning the RD vest and taking charge at our 145th parkrun.
The event was made possible by 11 volunteers ably led by Aoide:
Adrienne HARRINGTON • Rachel MARKEY • Witek LOCHOWSKI • Matthew TOBIN • Aoife MCCARTHY • Karin HOLZSCHNEIDER • Nadia LOCHOWSKA • Geraldine PRENDERGAST • Ita O’HANLON • Guus LEEUW • Derek CLARKE
Volunteering when you are injured is a great way to stay involved with the parkrun community and to catch up with our running friends and family. It was wonderful to welcome back Nadia, who was one of our most regular volunteers when we first began this parkrun. Great to welcome back one of our favourite run directors George and his lovely wife Adrienne to Father Collins! Given the heat Roxy, their pooch opted to steward with Aido rather than go the full distance with George – imagine owning such a sensible dog!
Well done to the 73 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 10 were first timers and 9 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 8 different clubs took part.
Well done to the latest PBers:
2. Derek Fitzpatrick
3. Oisin Breathnach
4. Therese Casey
5. Claire Larkin
6. Graeme McGrath
7. Paul Carey
8. Hyra Ricablanca
